Last year we had the nightmare scenario of actually losing our quality assurance accreditation on the grounds our HACCP wasn't up to scratch.

In effect our business was (and with almost no notice whatsoever) shut down - purely on the grounds of non-compliance on what I originally thought were just minor points.

I then had a couple of very worrying weeks where I spent a great deal of time trying to resolve the queries raised by the external auditor's "Inspection Exit Report".

Luckily we managed to resolve the issues and reclaim our accreditation, but as I say, it was a very worrying and stressful event and one I didn't ever want to go through again.

So that scare prompted me this year to find a HACCP expert to help me ensure we'd be fully compliant in advance of the external audit.

I've used the services of many consultants over the years. But very few of them (if any!) were prepared to go the extra mile like Bob did.

At the time of writing this, our business has just been through its 2006 audit - including HACCP assessment.

And this is what the auditor had to say about our HACCP once her visit was complete (quoting word for word):
